St. Joseph’s Food Bank, serving the community of Mission, launched a unique fund-raising opportunity involving community leaders and the Abbotsford Heat hockey team.
St. Joseph’s Food Bank building project manager, Ron Leger says the Abbotsford Heat have jumped on board to help the food bank here in Mission, to raise funds through a special game ticket sale. The purpose is to raise enough money to move the construction of a needed food bank building a step closer to completion.
Volunteers will be selling tickets to the Abbotsford Heat game on April 12 when they play host to the Toronto Marlies. To add support to the special fund-raising opportunity, MLAs Randy Hawes & Marc Dalton, provincial candidates Aird Flavelle, Simon Gibson, Mike Bocking and Preet Rai, as well as Mission Mayor Ted Adlem are TOGETHER all supporting the St. Joseph’s Food Bank with their own “Who can sell the most tickets” competition.
Ron Leger says “This is a great opportunity to support the St. Joseph’s Food Bank in a meaningful way and to have some fun too! Our shared goal is straightforward, feed the needs of those without. Mission is a caring community. This even it another opportunity for each of us to show we care and truly make a difference.”
